TORO ROSSO: LOOKING FOR MERCEDES' (TRAILING) EDGE?
While the Y250 vortex is somehow manufactured and sought after by aerodynamicists, this is not the case for the turbulence generated at the rear wing’s trailing edge – the area where the upper flap meets the endplates – since this creates drag.
In order to limit such phenomenon, the outer sections of the upper flap (see white arrows) have been curved down, in a manner similar to what Mercedes did at Barcelona earlier this year.
