9. Yuki Tsunoda – Visa Cash App RB
Championship final position: 12th
Best Finish: 7th
Best Qualifying: 3rd
With a score of 30 points out of RB’s 46, and against two different teammates, Yuki Tsunoda did a very good job in 2024 at the wheel of one of the least-competitive cars in the field. Early in the season, it seemed as though the Japanese driver’s volatile temperament would once again get the better of him in the heat of action, leaving again a question mark over his ability to perform under heightened pressure. Yet, Yuki proved his critics wrong with consistent finishes on track and by growing in maturity.
And while RB eventually missed out on sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship, Tsunoda wasn’t to blame, having scored his second-highest points tally in F1, the result of nine top 10-finishes, at the end of a season marked by undeniable improvements in terms of reliability an consistency.
Yet, Red Bull denied once again the 24-year-old’s promotion to Red Bull Racing, choosing his interim RB teammate Liam Lawson as Sergio Perez’s replacement for 2025.
