Ferrari: major changes at the front
Vettel and Raikkonen’s new machines were fitted with a significantly different front-wing installation during the final pre-season test. The new assembly features side winglets on the endplates (see blue arrows) as well as an extra vertical vane (see yellow arrows). What’s more, one of the flaps (see green arrows) no longer bends upwards but ends with a vertical strut instead.
The red-painted main plane is comprised of a couple of elements, so are the white-painted flaps. This means that the seven sophistically designed elements (painted in black) on the outside are generating most of the front wing’s aerodynamic load.
