Toro Rosso: taming the heat
Toro Rosso engineers elected for a cautious and conservative approach on the first version of their 2015 contender, with the primary goal remaining to validate its Renault power unit. After the initial phase of pre-season testing was out of the way, the Faenza-based team has taken a bolder step to improve the STR10’s aerodynamics, as highlighted by the removal of the side gills around the car’s air intake (see yellow arrows). The latter remains split into a couple of ducts: one feeds the V6’s airbox while the second helps cool the oil radiators.
