IN THE MADDING CROWD

The wide and oval-shaped airbox inlet splits into three apertures: the main duct sends cooling air to the compressor, while two smaller pipes feed the ERS cooler.

Besides the intercooler lodged within the monocoque, the Silver Arrow also features other coolers in the sidepods, as is the case on other cars. These radiators mostly help cool down the engine and gearbox.

Though neatly packaged, the lower sidepods are filled with different parts, including telemetry elements, hydraulics, an FOM transponder for TV broadcast, etc. The small bottle located in the area serves as a back-up to the air distribution system should the latter suffer any loss.
