Daniel Ricciardo has taken to Twitter to express his annoyance at the FIA's rule banning helmet changes.
At the start of the season it was announced a driver is not allowed to substantially change their helmet design during the year in order to help make them more identifiable for fans. The move occurred after many drivers would use multiple designs throughout a season, sometimes even more than one per race weekend.
The Monaco Grand Prix would traditionally see drivers opt for a special helmet design, and one was created for Ricciardo this year. However, with the ban in place Ricciardo is not allowed to use it and posted pictures on his Twitter account saying he is "not a fan" of the rule.
So JMD have painted me this helmet for the race and I really wanna wear it!! Not a fan of this 1 helmet design rule 😢 pic.twitter.com/A4cljE6e7y
