Alpine F1 driver and die-hard Paris St German fan Pierre Gasly has just taken his love for football to the next level by investing in French semi-pro club, FC Versailles.
Gasly had been seeking to get involved in pro football for a long time, and FC Versailles, which battles it out in the rough and tumble world of France’s third tier Championnat National, is where the 28-year-old has opted to start his journey in the sport.
Teaming up with co-owners Alexandre Mulliez and Fabien Lazare, Gasly is evidently all pumped up for his new sporting endeavor.
“I am delighted to get involved with FC Versailles because I have always wanted to get involved in professional football,” said the F1 charger.
"With Alexandre and Fabien, we share values, ambition and a keen competitive spirit which will allow us to positively develop the club.
"This is the start of a very beautiful story. Go Versailles!"

FC Versaille's co-owners hope that Gasly’s presence will help put the club on the map and generate internation exposure on its journey to becoming a pro club at some point in the future.
“Pierre brings a strong complement to Fabien and myself,” added Milliez.
“I am convinced that our collaboration will be fruitful. As a long-time fan of F1, I am lucky to have Pierre by our side to achieve all our goals.”
Gasly isn't the only F1 driver to join the team owner club, with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton becoming a part-owner of the NFL’s Denver Broncos in 2022.
