The only woman ever to win an F1 race visits the W Series

Granted, it was a round of the short-lived British Aurora F1 Championship back in 1980, but Desiré Wilson is still the only woman to have won an F1 race of any kind.

The South African racer was in Birmingham yesterday, visiting the Autosport International Show, and she naturally stopped by the W Series stand to check out the ground-breaking new women only single-seater racing series that aims to encourage greater female participation in motorsport.

A racer, and a true inspiration for the bold W Series girls.
