Mercedes trials a new “monkey seat” winglet
Defending champions Mercedes only brought one visible change to Budapest: a new “monkey seat”, also known as Y100 winglet. Its design is much simpler than the one seen at Monaco, another high-downforce circuit. The “monkey seat” operates with the two vanes that are located on each side of the rear crash structure.
The new component was trialled on Friday but did not make the cut for qualifying, nor the race.
