Having blown an engine in free-practice on a track unsuited to his car, Carlos knew early on that he didn’t have what he needed to be competitive, and would likely have to rely on others misfortunes to seize a result. The Spaniard trailed the Magnussen-Kvyat-Hülkenberg trio without ever being able to get close enough. Singapore should be better suited for the Toro Rosso.
