Renault wasn’t expecting an easy Grand Prix with its lack of horsepower. Hulk couldn’t get his tyres to work in the wet conditions and went no further than Q2. A grid penalty also sent him back two spots. Picking up two positions at the start, he was the first to stop for tyres and from that point on was never in contention for a point’s finish before ceding to Kvyat on lap 36.
