Another strong weekend sadly came to a premature end for the German. After nearly finishing Q1 in the drop zone, he beat the McLarens in Q3. He made the most of the lap one kerfuffle to move up third, and was fourth when engine gremlins struck his power unit and ended his race. It was a potential top three result ruined and a sad record of 129 Grands Prix sans podium to boot.
