Monza wasn’t K-Mag’s best effort. His on and off track exchanges with Alonso on Saturday lacked elegance when he certainly had the car to move on to the top ten shootout. On race day he claimed the Pirelli whites were not worth the rubber they were made from. He also had no qualms about cutting the chicanes just until he ran into Pérez. Then an early stop put him down the order and out of contention, and out of sight for the rest of the day.
