Horner and Marko know talent when they see it. There was no way in the world the underpowered Honda V6 should have made it into Q3, but no one told Pierre. Was it to be a third straight point-scoring race for the Frenchman? Unfortunately not after a lap one run in with Alonso damaged his floor. From there he had his hands full with an ill-handling car, but still managed to finish 52 of the 53 laps.
