Lando Norris (P10, 1 pt): 7/10
As usual, Lando Norris was being very hard on himself after this weekend's Grand Prix. It certainly hadn't been a vintage outing for the Briton, who failed to make it into the top ten in any of the practice sessions. While he scrapped into the final round of qualifying (by two thousandths of a second over Sebastian Vettel) he continued to trail his McLaren team mate Carlos Sainz throughout the proceedings. To make matters worse a too-cautious start to the race saw him lose two positions off the grid (to Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc) and he then spent the opening stint staring at the Ferrari's rear wing. Once the pit stops had shaken out he was similarly pinned in place behind Gasly, but at least he managed to fight off Daniel Ricciardo to hold on to a valuable championship point for tenth place at the line.
Pierre Gasly (P9, 2 pts): 8/10
Another strong weekend for Pierre Gasly made the Frenchman one of the stars of the midfield in Spain, and added to the bubbling speculation that he's simply too good to be stuck at AlphaTauri for much longer without being given another crack at the Red Bull seat. Certainly throughout this weekend Gasly was head and shoulders above his current team mate, and making it into the top ten in FP2 and FP3 set him up nicely to get it into the final round of qualifying on Saturday afternoon. He then got a good start to the race, getting the jump on both Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris in the run down to the first corner to put himself up to eighth place which he maintained through to the first round of pit stops. Unfortunately he ended up stuck in a long train of cars that included Kevin Magnussen and Esteban Ocon, all of whom were benefitting from DRS from the cars ahead which meant that his second stint on mediums was somewhat squandered. Even so he was still able to successfully fend off Lando Norris to the finish.
