Fighting over one last seat

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Singapore Grand Prix - Race Day - Singapore, Singapore

Will Stevens

Stevens was the constant at Manor last season as his team-mate’s second seat seemed a lot less stable. Announced as one of its drivers at an early stage, he hit the ground running and comfortably got the better of Roberto Merhi in the early stages. As the season wore on, mistakes started to creep in during races, and the arrival of Alexander Rossi appeared to unsettle him at first.

While retaining the upper hand in qualifying over both of his team-mates, Stevens struggled more compared to Rossi on Sundays initially before focusing on his race set-up and showing an improvement in the final two races. Dealt directly with team owner Stephen Fitzpatrick and will have been working on 2016 from an early stage, while he also brings a full year of experience with the team.
