F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2021 Sao Paulo GP

Antonio Giovinazzi (P14): 6/10
If the rumours are to be believed, Antonio Giovinazzi will learn this week that his time in F1 has reached a natural conclusion. And his Sao Paulo weekend offers little in the way of a counter argument against Alfa Romeo's decision, with Giovinazzi not able to make any sort of impact on proceedings other than his unfortunate tap on the back of team mate Kimi Raikkonen's car in the sprint race that sent the Iceman spinning toward a pit lane start on Sunday. Giovinazzi himself was able to start the Grand Prix from 13th: how to explain then why he ended up two places behind Raikkonen at the chequered flag after getting pinned behind Lance Stroll and George Russell after each of his pit stops. "We all know how difficult it is to pass here and once we were in that position, there wasn't much I could do." But others could, and did.

George Russell (P13): 6/10
Like his team mate Nicholas Latifi, George Russell seems to be on a post-summer-high sugar crash. It was a surprise to see him so off the pace on Friday with Latifi beating him in both FP1 and qualifying, the first time ever that Russell has lost out to his Williams team mate in a straight speed trial. He looked better on Saturday although he didn't take any risks trying to pass Latifi in the sprint race. He had a decent Grand Prix, an early stop under the safety car helping him to avoid the pit lane timing problems of the Canadian and allow him to make decent progress during the race, peaking at 12th place and finally crossing the line in 13th - a long way off the points of course, but probably about as good as Williams could hope for at this point of the proceedings given that Interlagos isn't really their sort of circuit. "Today was better than we expected," he said afterwards. "Being able to keep an Alfa Romeo behind is a pretty big deal for us as we just didn't have the pace this weekend."
