F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2021 Sao Paulo GP

Kimi Raikkonen (P12): 6.5/10
After 345 races, Kimi Raikkonen had to start his latest Grand Prix from pit lane after the team made overnight adjustments to the rear assembly of his Alfa Romeo following his spin in the sprint race due to inadvertent contact with his team mate Antonio Giovinazzi. In the circumstances, fighting back to finish in 12th place was a decent achievement for the Iceman especially after his early clash with Mick Schumacher, but missing out on the points again ahead of his team mate will probably only have helped to convince Kimi that it is the right time to call it a day in F1 at the end of the season. "We were able to produce a good recovery drive, we made up eight places which was probably the most we could do today," he reported. "Hopefully we can keep this form in the final three rounds and have some good results."

Sebastian Vettel (P11): 7/10
Sebastian Vettel was in the thick of the midfield action for most of Sunday's Sao Paulo Grand Prix, but in the end he just missed out on the points and came away empty handed. Even so, it looked like he was having a fun afternoon tangling with the likes of Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon having started from ninth place on the grid and quickly making up two spots on the first lap. Unfortunately the timing of the Virtual Safety Cars worked against Aston Martin, and his late first pit stop on lap 28 saw him plummet from a promising seventh place all the way down to 15th which cost him when it came to the second half of the race. A late decision to switch to a two-stop strategy fizzled out, but it was nonetheless a decent drive from Vettel who looked happy to be allowed out to play at Interlagos even though he was held back by the lack of potential in the Aston Martin this week.
