4. A tighter package at Lotus
In order to complete valuable mileage in Andalusia and check that its power unit was working properly (Phase I of pre-season testing), the E23’s bodywork featured wide cooling inlets. Encouraged by the initial data, Lotus introduced a more compact package on its 2015 challenger in Barcelona, with narrower gills at the back (use the suspensions arms as reference points to compare both designs).
