Valtteri Bottas (P18): 5.5/10
Valtteri Bottas continues to do well against his Sauber team mate Zhou Guanyu in qualifying head-to-head performances - he has beaten the Chinese driver in 15 of the last 16 attempts. But they still both missed the first cut in Q1, and Bottas once again missed out in race trim. On this occasion it came down to a difference in pit stop strategy: Bottas came in on lap 8 while Zhou was on hard tyres and stayed out until lap 33, by which point he was up to 11th. After Zhou did stop, Bottas was two places ahead but his by-now much older tyres made him a sitting duck for Zhou to catch and pass him in the final six laps.
Logan Sargeant (P17): 6/10
We didn't hear much about Logan Sargeant and for the most part that's a good thing as it means he was keeping his head down and making a decent job of it, even if the current Williams means that's not going to come close to getting him points. At least he avoided the tyre mishaps of his team mate Alex Albon. He had failed to set a time in qualifying which meant he started from the back on Sunday, opting for a 31-lap first stint which allowed him to make up some positions on those who came in early. When he did stop he was at the back again, but he had the satisfaction of picking off Fernando Alonso and Valtteri Bottas (on much older tyres at this point) by the finish line. Not too bad.
