Esteban Ocon (P14): 6/10
The Alpine may still be painfully off the pace despite all the recent upgrade work that's been going on, but Esteban Ocon has been doing the better job of the team's two drivers in extracting the most potential out of the package. After winning his maiden point of the season at Miami, Ocon would have liked to maintain the momentum again this week but few opportunities presented themselves. Despite starting ahead of Pierre Gasly and pitting later giving him fresher tyres at the end, he was only able to finish in the no man's land of P14 putting him firmly behind all the drivers from RB and Haas.
Daniel Ricciardo (P13): 6.5/10
This is one of those weekends where Daniel Ricciardo didn't do particularly badly, but was made to look worse than he was by comparison with the achievements of his RB team mate, who tickled the dizzy heights of the top three at the end of Friday practice. Ricciardo joined Tsunoda in making it through to the final round of qualifying for the first time this season, which should be cause for celebration, but a poor start on Sunday meant he lost places at the start to Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez, and with it any chance of points given the lack of incidents and safety cars.
