Yuki Tsunoda (P10, 1 pt): 7.5/10
Another point added to his season tally, and a further win over RB team mate Daniel Ricciardo are all things to the good for Yuki Tsunoda, but it's surely his third place on the Friday practice timesheets that will be his fondest memory of Imola. He duly made it to the final top ten pole shoot-out in qualifying and succeeded in splitting the two Mercedes drivers on the grid. However like Ricciardo he had a problematic start to the race and lost places to both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg. After that it became a battle just to stay in the top ten. Despite losing out to late-stoppers Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll in the closing laps he managed to keep in the points and should be commended for another mature, level-headed performance this weekend.
Lance Stroll (P9, 2 pts): 8/10
Once again, one Aston Martin driver was head and shoulders above the other, who was having a bit of a nightmare weekend. The big surprise is that the Aston driver in form and firmly on top in Imola was unquestionably Lance Stroll. He was slightly slower than Fernando Alonso on Friday but nonetheless more or less on a fairly even footing. Once Alonso spun off in FP3 it was as though Stroll saw a chance to pick up the squad's fallen banner and carry Aston's colours in qualifying and the race. He benefitted from the team giving him all the right strategy calls in the race allowing him to have some fun slaloming his way through the field on fresh tyres at the end. Not bad, Lance; really not bad at all.
