Jenson Button - 8th place, 4 points - 8.5/10
McLaren didn’t look to have the pace of the Mercedes-powered teams on Saturday but Button got the most out of the car in the race. Beating both Williams cars was a good performance, but what made Button’s drive all the more impressive was the amount of time he lost in FP2 with a bit of carbon in his eye, followed by only six laps in FP3. Despite being on the back foot, outqualified and outraced team-mate Fernando Alonso in what racing director Eric Boullier described as a “faultless” performance.
