HAAS CARVES ITS OWN PATH
The third group of Monza-spec wings only includes one team, Haas, whose solution once again stood out compared to its rivals, though it was less radical than its 2016 predecessor. The 2017 model looked like a 2015-style Sauber design, with a slimmer and less tilted middle section (compared to the edges for the rear wings in the second group).
Although the pressure differential between the two sides of the endplate produces drag, it is offset by keeping the four endplates slits. Instead of refining the outer edges of the wing and removing the slits, the team has kept a fairly sloped wing along with the cuts.
