Hamilton hits back at Vettel remarks over Mercedes dominance

Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton picked apart Sebastian Vettel's claims that Mercedes recent dominance of Formula 1 has drained the sport of much of its excitement.

Hamilton aptly sent an observation Vettel's way, reminding the German that he had enjoyed a lengthy supremacy of his own during his Red Bull days.

"It's pretty funny because he had four years of it and I've only had two," Hamilton told Sky Sports.

"Until l get to his level l won't have bored them as much as he had!"

Hamilton's tongue-in-cheek response was echoed by teammate Nico Rosberg who believes Mercedes outstanding accomplishments don't get the credit they deserve.

"To anybody who says that, l would ask that there is a lot of hard work behind us", said the German.

"We are where we are because we are the best at the moment. It would be nice to be a bit more respectful of our achievements."
