2 — McLaren joins the "thumb noses" club

Pushing the nose backward has logically altered the way the air flows in the area. Taking this into account, the McLaren aerodynamicists have slightly modified the shape of the front wing, although its overall concept has not changed. As shown above, the edge of the penultimate flap (starting from the bottom) is shorter. Although this might look like a minor tweak, it’s actually fairly important considering that this where the essential Y250 vortex is generated. What’s more, the flap adjustment mechanism has also been placed somewhere as a result of the new design (see red and yellow arrows).
