Drivers can no longer rely on electronic assistance to launch their grand prix. Before recent changes, they had some leeway to release the clutch with the electronics doing the rest.
Now, the pilots have to find the optimum clutch bite point in releasing the clutch more carefully… just like you would do on your everyday car.
That’s why teams have developed systems to help the drivers find the clutch bite point more accurately, as shown on Esteban Ocon’s Force India steering wheel above.
