Sent to the rear of the field after a change of powertrain elements, Gasly like Hamilton stayed out on his first set of tyres as long as he possibly could, hoping for rain. When it came, he and the team rolled the dice in bolting on the rarely used full wets. After a trip through the gravel, he was back in the pits for another change of rubber, his race done and dusted.
