Just a bit gutted after making a mess of his final qualifying lap and leaving Magnussen to be ‘‘Best of the Rest”, Romain, like Kevin, was slow off the line. Then he struggled on his first stint. When the rain came, he got the better of Magnussen, but both VF-18s stopped for intermediates, which they soon scrapped. While the Dane struggled, Grosjean found his groove to go on and secure an excellent sixth place finish.
