F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Russian Grand Prix

Kevin Magnussen (P9, 2 pts): 8/10
After four outings without any championship points, Kevin Magnussen finally brought some much needed cheer to Haas this weekend, making up for the premature exit of his team mate Romain Grosjean from the proceedings. After a slow start to the weekend on Friday morning, Magnussen was the quicker of the pair in the remainder of practice only to make a mistake in qualifying that meant he missed out on making it through to Q3 on Saturday afternoon, leaving him in 13th place on the grid. At least that kept him away from the turn 4 incident that claimed Grosjean, and as a result Magnussen found himself immediately running up in the points which is where he stayed for the rest of the race. He was running in sixth place when he was passed by Alexander Albon, and then his day was somewhat spoiled by a five second penalty for running off at turn 2 while battling Sergio Perez and failing to follow the correct procedure when returning ot the track. The Dane fumed over the "a stupid penalty", a view shared by his boss Guenther Steiner: "If we wouldn’t have a stupid, idiotic steward we would be eighth!"
