Grosjean’s Lotus career comes to an end with a good performance after trouble on Saturday. Qualifying has been Grosjean’s strength this year but he was denied the chance to display that again after stopping on track in Q2, with the resulting gearbox penalty leaving him 18th of the 19 cars on the grid. Matched Vettel’s first stint by going 23 laps on the soft tyre to gain track position and then switched to the supersofts for a late burst which saw him climb in to the points late on, though he just ran out of time to pass Massa.
