F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2020 Hungarian GP

George Russell (P18): 7/10
George Russell's weekends are falling into something of an unwelcome pattern: a hero on Saturday after qualifying, but back to zero again at the end of the race the following day. Finishing in the top ten in Q1, Russell dared to dream about making it all the way through to the final pole shoot-out round only to miss out by a mere two tenths. Nonetheless a remarkable showing in tricky conditions had left him aiming for his first championship points in the race itself - but once again it didn't happen. A bad start on the wetter side of the grid immediately cost him four positions, and after the early pit stops he was down in 17th place from where he barely budged for the rest of the afternoon, citing 'really poor' race pace. The team really needs to get on top of whatever is ailing them when it comes to their Sunday form.

Antonio Giovinazzi (P17): 5.5/10
If Alfa Romeo is making any progress at all so far in 2020, then only in terms of it's their slow march in the wrong direction toward the back of the grid. Antonio Giovinazzi seemed to be struggling in particular, and was one of the bottom three runners in all the Friday and Saturday practice sessions. When it came to qualifying he and his team mate Kimi Raikkonen were duly consigned to the back row of the grid, although at least a bit of that was due to weather and circumstances. Giovinazzi did at least get the better of both Williams during the race, kept in touch with the rest of the midfield runners and made it to the end in one piece without incident, but that's about the best that can be said for it. Very small crumbs of comfort for a team that seems to have lost its way.
