Pierre Gasly (P14): 6/10
Pierre Gasly hasn't been sounding at all happy with the AlphaTauri team this season, but this week he's been putting on a happy face and insisting he'll miss Faenza and all the people there when he moves to Alpine next season. As for his final outing with AlphaTauri, he was off the pace in Friday's second practice and damaged his wheel in FP3 costing him track time, but at least the team got him out in qualifying even if he missed the first cut. The only driver to start the race on softs, he was inevitably one of the first drivers to pit on lap 14. He then managed to make the hard compound work for the rest of the race, earning him slow promotion to 14th by the chequered flag. That was after surviving a close encounter with Mick Schumacher, which could have earned him a penalty point meaning he might have missed next year's season opened with a mandatory one-lap ban!
Alexander Albon (P13): 6.5/10
Things were looking positive for Williams' Alex Albon in first practice, but he struggled from that point on and had a particularly disappointing qualifying session (normally his strongest moment in the race weekend) where he emphatically missed the cut after struggling to find space to warm up his tyres on a crowded track, leaving him in 19th place on the grid for Sunday's race. Despite starting on the medium tyres, Albon was the first driver to pit on lap 12 and this briefly saw him rise to 11th when others came in for their own stops later on. However he was unable to make the hard tyres last the full distance and a second stop to return to a new set of mediums dropped him firmly out of contention for points.
