F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2024 United States Grand Prix

Alex Albon, Williams (SP17, P16): 4.5/10
We're so used to singing the praises of Alex Albon among the back markers that this rare flop for the Williams driver is rather a shock. Nothing came together for him in Austin, with a poor Friday making the sprint race an impossible task, and then a poor qualifying on Saturday putting him up against it on Sunday where he promptly tipped Esteban Ocon into a spin at the start. One to forget.

Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (SP13, P15): 5/10
Yes, Lance Stroll was in Austin although it was easy to overlook him in the coverage. He simply didn't feature in any of the practice, qualifying or race sessions. He did about as well as his Aston Martin team mate Fernando Alonso across the weekend, but it still wasn't enough to put him in contention for points at any stage, showing just how underwhelming the AMR24 was in Austin. Is that a portent for the final races of 2024?
