F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2024 United States Grand Prix

Nico Hulkenberg, Haas (SP8, P8, 5 pts): 7/10
Nico Hulkenberg qualified well for the sprint but ended up dropping behind his Haas team mate Kevin Magnussen in the race itself. He didn't have such a good time in the main qualifying session and missed the top ten, but held firm during the race to finish back in the points. It's a pleasant surprise to find that he's now amassed a very creditable 29 points in total this season, compared to a meagre eight for Magnussen.

Sergio Perez, Red Bull (SP9, P7, 6 pts): 5/10
Sergio Perez is not doing a great job in pressing his case to retain his coveted seat at Red Bull in 2025 (or even the remainder of the season). There was nothing disastrous this weekend but missing the final cut in sprint qualifying was not a great look for the Mexican, who missed out on the points as a consequence. Nor was failing to set a time when he made it into Q3 in the Grand Prix qualifying session on Saturday. He did knuckle down and secure himself some points on Sunday but finishing behind a driver who started from the pit lane isn't the sort of performance likely to do much for his future prospects.
