F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2024 Las Vegas GP

Kevin Magnussen, Haas (P12): 6/10
Another driver close to the end of his time in F1, Kevin Magnussen had a quiet weekend. He finished in 12th place in qualifying and the same again in the race itself. He was the only driver to tackle the Las Vegas GP on one pit stop, and given the problems other teams faced he did a commendable job in keeping the rubber alive all the way to the finish. But it was never going to help him advance up the field and so it's not a surprise that he finished where he had started. To be honest there was little else he could do today.

Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (P11): 6.5/10
It was very disappointing to see both Aston Martins miss the first cut in qualifying. Lance Stroll could blame ERS issues on his car, but Alonso was struggling with the balance of the car while managing tyre temperatures that didn't suit the AMR24. The slightly milder conditions for the race proved a boost and Alonso had a good run to get to the cusp of points, but in the end he was ousted from the top ten by Red Bull's Sergio Perez. Alonso made him work for it, though.
