Nico Hulkenberg, Kick Sauber (P16): 4/10
As mentioned previously, Kick Sauber are fundamentally down on the rest of the grid from an aerodynamic standpoint. No matter how well Hulkenberg might have been driving behind the wheel of his C45, we weren’t able to see it. It was an uneventful race for the German, who only appeared on the TV cameras in the dying moments of the race when a five-way battle developed between Doohan, him, Lawson, Ocon and Bortoleto.

Jack Doohan, Alpine (P15): 5/10
A humongous crash during the second practice session through the first corner rattled Doohan, but he chose to battle through the pain and complete the rest of the weekend. Forgetting to close the DRS before turning in was no one’s fault but his own, and the Australian knows that if he were to sit out a single Grand Prix, Colapinto will take the seat and never look back. We give Doohan bonus points for wincing through the agony to show solid pace in the Grand Prix and finish four places higher than he started. The poor man was barely able to get out of his Alpine after parking up.
