Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull (P12): 6/10
Tsunoda looked immediately more confident behind the wheel of the RB21 compared to Lawson, and was only a tenth off Verstappen in FP1. But that Red Bull car is a tough beast to tame; Tsunoda tried to compensate for this with an aggressive rear aero setup which didn’t work out, getting knocked out in Q2. The Japanese driver got ahead of Lawson straight away in the race but then got bogged down behind Gasly for a while. Once he was released in the second half of the race, he never had the pace to challenge for the top ten anyway. Considering the lack of preparation that Tsunoda had for his home Grand Prix, we’d say he did a solid job overall.
