Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (P11): 6/10
The highlight of Alonso’s Japanese Grand Prix was his first-lap tussle with Gasly, which saw the pair go through many of the corners side-by-side on the opening lap of the race. A respectful battle that certainly caught the eye. But apart from that it was a quiet one for the Spanish veteran. He got very close to scoring his first points of the season; although disappointing at least he actually saw the chequered flag for once.
