Franco Colapinto – Alpine (P16) 4.5/10
Colapinto’s F1 return suffered a painful bust in qualifying – something Flavio Briatore had implored him to avoid. Starting 16th, he drove prudently, like he was still shaking off the cobwebs. Finishing exactly where he started, Franco’s Imola comeback was a complicated affair, for himself but also for his team.

Lance Stroll – Aston Martin (P15) 6/10
Credit where it’s due: Stroll wasn’t the punchline at Imola. A strong quali and a climb to fifth showed promise, but the VSC timing torpedoed him to 17th. Aston’s refusal to pit on lap 29, followed by a late stop on lap 46, killed his top-10 hopes. P12 was a bitter pill for a decent drive put in by the Canadian.
