Tech F1i: Keeping cool in Bahrain

HAAS DIFFERS FROM FERRARI (AND THE OTHERS)

To evacuate the heat under the engine cover of its VF18H, Haas followed a completely original way of thinking by cutting openings at the base of the sidepods, where the bodywork and the floor meet.

This grid evacuates the calories produced under the engine cover, especially the hot air emerging from the small radiator fixed under the sidepod (red arrow). This radiator does not appear on its alter ego from Maranello. As can be seen, the American car has retained the angled installation of the intercoolers, no longer used on the Ferrari SF71-H.
