Splitting the Renaults on the grid, the Frenchman did the hard bit at the start getting around the Hulk. But he lost the spot back to the German during his pit stop. Then he was stuck behind Grosjean on very used rubber for more than 20 laps. Once the Haas made its stop, he reeled in the RS 18, but just ran out of laps.
