While his team mate parked himself at the top of the time sheet from Friday to Saturday mid-day, the Honey Badger was never on pace in Montreal. He felt his car was not as flexible with the Spec. 2 Renault power unit that was coupled with an old MGU-K to avoid a grid demotion. But an undercut strategy saw him move ahead of Lewis and Kimi for P4, which was the best he could hope for.
