It was another short Saturday afternoon for the Russian, who was slowest in Q1 as he struggled to build up heat in his tyres. On Sunday, like Räikkönen, he managed to complete the race with a one stop strategy. Had the final VSC period of the day not slowed him down while cooling off his Pirellis, he just might have passed Magnussen earlier and perhaps taken the fight to Stroll.
