CURVES, EVERYWHERE
Located near the bargeboards are the sidepod vanes, which present a unique curved design on the R.S.17. The lower vane seems to spring forth and has been pierced with three horizontal slits that allow the airflow through. The carbon element that attaches the vanes to the sidepod is also very sculpted.
As a reminder, Renault’s latest model was designed with resources that were still limited and under the stewardship of Jon Tomlinson, who will be replaced by former Red Bull man Pete Machin from July 3.
