In place of the ‘monkey seat’ winglet, a pair of tiny wing-shaped elements has been added to the W06’s rear crash structure. These create more downforce without hurting top-end speed, a key performance factor on a circuit that features one of the longest straights of the season.

In Spain, the Silver Arrows were generating a lot of downforce in the corners while remaining pretty fast through the speed traps. Lewis Hamilton had the fifth highest top-end speed on Sunday with 341 kph (against 338.9 kph for Raikkonen and 334.5 kph for Vettel).
