A good recovery from Maldonado, who finished directly behind his team-mate Grosjean on the road. After a bizarre moment in FP2 where Maldonado drove off the track while looking at his steering display, again it was Grosjean who excelled in qualifying while Maldonado dropped out in Q2. However, his race pace was good and he was clean in wheel-to-wheel battles to follow Grosjean home to secure only the second double points for Lotus this season.
