Magny-Cours

The circuit to host the French Grand Prix the most times is also the most recent, with Magny-Cours delivering 18 consecutive races from 1991-2008. The track used by F1 remained largely unchanged throughout its spell on the calendar. The first running in 1991 featured an Esses section after the Adelaide hairpin, but these were removed for the 1992 edition.

In 2003 the final section and pit entry was modified slightly to try and improve overtaking with the Adelaide hairpin the main realistic chance of making a pass. While the change didn't have a huge impact on wheel-to-wheel action, it did lead to a shorter pit-stop time which allowed Michael Schumacher to win the 2004 race with a four-stop strategy. Schumacher won on eight occasions at the circuit, which dropped off the calendar - along with the French Grand Prix itself - at the end of 2008.
