Le Mans Bugatti

A one-hit wonder in this list, the iconic name of Le Mans has only hosted a single Formula One race back in 1967. Racing on the Bugatti circuit, the configuration used the main circuit's start-finish straight before turning right on to a purpose-built track.

At that time, grand prix drivers were used to racing on much longer circuits which would have made the 13.461km Circuit de la Sarthe a reasonable option. Instead, the 4.430km Bugatti circuit did not capture the imagination - as a reported crowd of just 20,000 testifies - and the venue was dropped after just one year.
