F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2024 British GP

Kevin Magnussen, Haas (P12): 5.5/10
In Formula 1, the most significant battle that you have to win is the one with your team mate as they're the only driver on the same hardware to allow like-for-like comparisons. This week, Kevin Magnussen came off distinctly second best when judged against the successes of Nico Hulkenberg, and that's reflected in our score for the Dane. He missed FP1 in favour of Oliver Bearman (who looks set to take his seat in 2025) and was slowest in FP2/ He duly missed the first cut in qualifying leaving him stuck in 17th. He did the best he could from there and was even tickling the cusp of the top ten, only to pit a lap too soon in the changing conditions. Getting passed by Logan Sargeant as the rain picked up is never going to be a good look for any driver.

Logan Sargeant, Williams (P11): 7/10
Given that it looks increasingly likely that Logan Sargeant won't be back with us for the second half of the season after the summer break, it's a surprise to see him this high up the classification for the British Grand Prix, so close to securing his first championship point of the season, and for us to be giving him such a high score. But he deserves it for a really good, solid performance at Silverstone, especially when he picked up a spot by passing Kevin Magnussen in what had been a strong weekend for Haas. Perhaps Sargeant's fate at Williams is not quite so sealed as we had been assuming.
